Over 20 years in chiropractic care have prepared Cork chiropractor Dr. Eric Kelly for the science-based solutions and comfortable care plans that result in ideal outcomes for patients who join the Glanmire Chiropractic Clinic family. With a steady stream of referrals, new and existing patients from the area and Glanmire are attracted to our clinic for our experience and outcomes.
People are confident in our team and the care we provide, as we build trust upon arrival and never let up in open communication and our passion for personal connection. We establish an excellent relationship with people through conversations that begin on the first visit.
Beyond your health concerns, we want to know about your life, profession, hobbies, and more. Dr. Kelly wants to bond with you as a patient, not just meeting you but caring for you as a person on every level.
In building a personal relationship and trust in our care, we carefully explain everything before we do anything. With various techniques at our disposal, we will assess your needs based on posture scans, full neurological markups, reviewing any MRI or X-rays, and a host of valuable experiences to pull from. We then chart a path and communicate step-by-step plans for what we'll do and why.
Patients often love seeing and knowing what each stage of care will look like and what commitment will be required of them as patients. This includes an appointment schedule and the steps that need to be taken by the patient, such as at-home exercises and stretches.
It's a very science-based process, with medical tests and explanations that educate you in a straightforward way. Before you begin therapy, you should have everything laid out for you on paper with an understanding of what is happening and a reassurance that we are capable of taking you where you need to go.
Meet Dr. KellyWe love seeing our patients' journey, from pain, tears, and unhappiness to health, smiles, and joy as the care starts working. We may be the first chiropractic experience for many local patients, but often people are dejected by the lack of answers from other healthcare professionals and consultants before they see us. Dr. Kelly has many relationships with patients who admit they wish they would have seen us years before.
Don't wait and regret waiting! Take advantage of our systematic plans and evaluations that ensure you are always on track and progressing towards your goals.

Chiropractic care isn't necessarily something you need for your whole life, but many people choose to incorporate it into their long-term wellness routine.
Just like dental check ups, exercise and healthy eating, regular chiropractic adjustments can help maintain spinal health, improve mobility, and prevent future issues.
Some patients come in only when they have pain, while others prefer periodic check-ups to stay feeling their best. The choice is always yours, and we're here to support your health goals in whatever way works best for you.
Parents may choose chiropractic adjustments for their newborns or young children to support overall wellness, proper development, and nervous system function. Birth can be physically demanding for a baby, and gentle chiropractic adjustments may help with issues like:
Pediatric chiropractic care is very gentle, using light pressure, and is focused on improving comfort and function rather than "cracking" or manual adjustments.
Yes, chiropractic care may help with colic by addressing nervous system imbalances and tension in the spine that could contribute to discomfort. The birth process can sometimes cause minor misalignments (subluxations) in an infant's spine, particularly in the neck and upper back. These misalignments may affect the nervous system and digestive function, potentially leading to colic symptoms like excessive crying, gas, and discomfort.
We use very gentle adjustments, often just light fingertip pressure, to restore proper alignment and nervous system communication. This may help relax the baby's body, reduce tension, and improve digestion, which could ease colic symptoms. Some parents notice improvements in their baby's fussiness, sleep, and overall comfort after chiropractic care.
While research on chiropractic and colic is still developing, many parents report positive results.
Yes, many private health insurance policies provide coverage for chiropractic care, particularly when the chiropractor is registered with the Chiropractic Association of Ireland (CAI).
Given that insurance policies and coverage details can change, it's essential to contact your insurance provider directly to obtain the most current information regarding chiropractic care coverage under your specific plan.
Depending on a thorough consultation which includes history, neurological and orthopaedic testing, review of any MRIs or X-rays, we will determine how much time/how many visits it will take for the best outcome.
The factors to include are the extent of injury, overall health, age, extent of damage and how long the injury has been there.
We have different plans to help finance your care and always work with you to achieve your goals and results.
In most cases, you do not need a referral from a GP to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors are considered primary healthcare providers, meaning you can book an appointment directly.
However, if you plan to use health insurance, some providers may require a referral for coverage, depending on your policy. It's always a good idea to check with both your insurance company and the chiropractor's office to confirm if a referral is needed.
Yes, we work alongside medical doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care. While chiropractic focuses on spinal alignment and nervous system function, medical doctors address other aspects of health, such as infections, chronic diseases, and surgical needs. Collaboration may include:
Not only do we work with GPs and consultants, we have them as patients as well.
Usually no. We perform a consultation on the first day which includes a full and detailed history, we then perform orthopaedic, neurological and muscular examinations to diagnose what the issue is. We then do a digital posture scan and digital range of motion on your visit and all that takes 30-40 minutes.
We then have a 2nd visit which takes 20 minutes where we explain your findings, review any MRIs or xray reports, and what needs to be done in great detail. On the 2nd day, after everything is explained to you, you can decide if Chiropractic is the care you need and we can start adjusting on that 2nd visit if you decide it's right for you.
Sometimes, if the case is not complicated we can do these 2 visits on the same day.
Yes. For the vast majority of cases we see, there is a huge aspect of care that is done at home. This can include anything from traction, core exercise, stretching, icing, band resistance exercises, all depending on what injury you have.
For the best long term results from any injury we sustain in life, if it is properly rehabilitated then re injury is less likely to happen in the future.
A lot of that works come from you at home.
Yes, someone who has had back surgery can see a chiropractor, but it depends on the type of surgery and their current condition. We do specialize in post-surgical care and can provide gentle, non-invasive treatments to help with mobility, pain relief, and overall spinal health. However, traditional spinal adjustments may not be appropriate, especially if there are spinal fusions, rods, or other hardware.
It's important to perform a very thorough history, neurological and orthopaedic exams and review any post surgical MRIs or X-rays to make sure it is safe to move forward with Chiropractic care.
